Syrian Army Claims Recapture of Rebel 'Stronghold' East of Daraa City

Syria’s state news agency, SANA, as well as a number of pro-Damascus accounts and Arab news reports said on July 6 that Syrian state forces and their allies had advanced as far as the town of al-Naima, a short distance east of Daraa city.SANA’s report called the advance “decisive progress towards ending the terrorist presence in the entire eastern countryside of the city.”It said the town had been an important stronghold for al-Nusra rebels.
