Syrian Military Declares Damascus City and Province Free From ISIS

The Syrian military said on Monday, May 21 it “fully liberated” al-Hajar al-Aswad and Yarmouk Camp from Islamic State militants, two of the country’s last places of presence for the group.Brigadier General Ali Mayhoub, spokesman for the General Command of the Syrian Army, said Damascus city and countryside, including east and west Ghouta, were “secure and safe.” He also credited Syria’s allies for their assistance.
