The South Korean Red Cross has selected 250 separated families to take part in the upcoming joint reunion events to be held from August 20th to 26th.
It explained Monday that it has finalized the list from 500 randomly-picked candidates based on their health conditions and willingness to reunite with their family members north of the border.
The list will be delivered to the North in the coming hours.
North Korea will then begin its own process of confirming whether the candidates' relatives in the North are alive and available to participate in the reunions.
