Hundreds of protesters stood at the steps of City Hall in Newark, New Jersey, on Saturday, June 30, as Senator Cory Booker spoke during the city’s Families Belong Together March.“Today we stand up for love over hate. Today we stand up for love over ego. Today we stand up for love over separation. Today we stand up for love over barriers. Today we stand up for love over borders. Today we stand up for love over and over and over again,” said Booker, addressing the crowd.Organizers planned the events, taking place all across the United States, as a response to US President Donald Trump’s zero-tolerance policy on immigration, which has led to children being separated from their parents at the US border.
