The jailed head of Korean conglomerate Lotte Group, Shin Dong-bin,.... was backed by Japanese shareholders in a vote today,... to keep his seat on the board.
Lotte Holdings,... a holding firm for Lotte's Japanese businesses which also holds major stakes in the group's Korean units,.... rejected the motion to dismiss Shin Dong-bin, the younger son of the group's founder, during its shareholders' meeting in Tokyo.
The motion was brought up by Shin's own brother Shin Dong-joo, a former vice chair of Lotte Holdings,... as he continues to wage battle against his sibling to take the control of South Korea's fifth-largest conglomerate.
Shin Dong-bin was sentenced to 2-and-a-half years in prison in February for bribery in relation to the jailed former President Park Geun-hye and her close friend.
