That's right Daniel, the season's highest readings so far this season were seen in Seoul and some inland areas. Some were even alerted with heat wave advisories. The alerts are expected to expand with the steamy weather expected over the weekend.
If we have a look at Beijing, it's very hot. This air is coming right into Korea, so it's expected to stay extremely hot. Although tomorrow, we are seeing the highs a few notches lower than today.
It doesn't seem to be cooling off much during the night because the morning temps are now higher,... breaking 20 degrees Celsius for most parts, including here in Seoul.
Into the day, Seoul is at 29, Gwangju 32 and Daegu at 34 degrees.
This intense heat will ease with the monsoon rain next week. It's expected to pour starting in Jeju,... eventually wetting the rest of the nation until Wednesday,...southern regions until Thursday.
