President Moon to cast early ballot Friday to boost turnout in next week's local elections

Staying with the run-up to the June 13th local elections.
The nation's top office has revealed that President Moon Jae-in will participate in early voting and cast his ballot on Friday.
Let's hear from the president's spokesperson.

"President Moon's decision to take part in early voting is to boost voter turnout, which is usually as low as 50 percent, even though it's a nationwide election."

He will be the first sitting president to take part in early voting since the system was introduced in 2013.
According to the Cheongwadae, many of President Moon's aides will also cast their ballots in advance.
The spokesperson insisted, however, that the President's early voting has absolutely nothing to do with a potential visit to Singapore... to join his American and North Korean counterparts.
That summit is scheduled for the day before the election, June 12th.
