South Korean President Moon Jae-in will be hosting President Rodrigo Duterte of the Philippines at the presidential Blue House later this Monday.
The leaders are set to hold a bilateral summit during which they will discuss strengthening ties in areas such as defense, trade, and people-to-people exchange.
President Moon is expected to seek the Southeast Asian country's support for his New Southern Policy... which aims for more economic cooperation and exchange between South Korea and members of the ASEAN.
He'll also seek Mr. Duterte's endorsement for peace settlement on the Korean Peninsula ahead of the North Korea-U.S. summit next week.
Presidents Moon and Duterte will then hold a joint media conference which will be followed by a banquet hosted by South Korea's first couple.
The Moon, Duterte summit will be the second of its kind after their first in November last year which took place on the sidelines of the ASEAN summit in Manila.
