Manchester United boss Louis van Gaal says he is "pleased" with Juan Mata's impact after the Spaniard scored minutes after coming on to give his side a 1-0 win over Crystal Palace at Old Trafford.

There was little between the two sides in the first half, with Fraizer Campbell lobbing over for Palace, but United substitute Mata drove in from 20 yards to secure the three points.

The Red Devils are now unbeaten in five league games at Old Trafford in their longest unbeaten home run since March 2013.
