Trump: Meeting With Kim Jong Un 'May Not Work Out For June 12'

President Trump on Tuesday suggested a potential delay in his meeting with Kim Jong Un.

President Trump on Tuesday suggested some uncertainty about his highly anticipated meeting with North Korean leader Kim Jong Un that has been scheduled for June 12.
"We'll see what happens. If it doesn't happen, maybe it will happen later," Trump told reporters. "You never really know. It may not work out for June 12."
Trump's remarks come days after North Korea had expressed skepticism about whether it will participate or ultimately agree to its denuclearization.
Newsweek reports that a statement released by the Asian nation Wednesday, stated, in part, "If the U.S. is trying to drive us into a corner to force our unilateral nuclear abandonment, we will no longer be interested in such dialogue."
It also noted that economic aid would not be considered an adequate exchange for the abandonment of the nuclear program.
The New York Times reported on Sunday that after the release of the statement, Trump had "begun pressing his aides and allies about whether he should take the risk of proceeding with [the] historic meeting...according to administration and foreign officials."
