President Trump has indicated that plans for a historic summit between him and North Korean leader Kim Jong Un are progressing "very well."

President Trump has indicated that plans for a historic summit between him and North Korean leader Kim Jong Un are progressing, tweeting Saturday, in part, "Things are going very well, time and location of meeting with North Korea is being set."
Despite the lack of detail in his tweet, Trump has been providing glimpses into the process elsewhere, saying recently that the meeting would likely happen "in the coming weeks."
He also said during a White House press conference Friday, "I think some very good things can happen with respect to North Korea. We're setting up meetings now. We're down to two countries as to a site. We'll let you know what that site is."
According to CNN, U.S. officials have indicated that the two nations under consideration are Singapore and Mongolia, with the former preferred, in part, because it is not as remote.
Trump's optimistic tweet was posted a day after the leaders of North and South Korea made a joint promise to denuclearize the peninsula.
