Korea marks Teacher Appreciation Day

Today -- May 15th -- is 'Teacher Appreciation Day' here in Korea,... a day for children and adults alike to show their teachers how much they appreciate their hard work and dedication.
To mark the day,... the Education Ministry will host a special event for a number of teachers invited to the Sejong Convention Center located in the city of Sejong.
The tradition of giving carnations or other gifts to teachers may not be allowed due to the anti-graft 'Kim Young-ran Law' enacted back in 2016,... students are said to be opting for handwritten letters instead this year.
