Good morning. The western regions will be mild and sunny today along with high UV rays while the eastern regions will have the exact opposite conditions.

Easterly winds will drag down the temperatures 7 to 8 degrees lower than the seasonal averages in the east. Gangneung will only get up to 13 degrees.

Gyeongju will only rise to 16 degrees while Seoul will get up to 21 degrees.

UV rays will be very high, especially for western parts of the country, including here in Seoul. Remember, UV rays are strongest between 10 am and 4 pm.

Wide temperature gaps will carry on for the rest of the week. We'll notice warmer temperatures next week.

With that, let's take a look at the international weather for viewers around the world.

A mostly cloud-free day is expected in most of South Korea, while parts of North Korea will also be under plenty of sunshine with warm highs.

Morning rain in Tokyo will let up and cloudy skies and cool temperatures will dominate most of the day.

The colder weather will seem like a shock after warmer temperatures across many cities in Australia. Wednesday is shaping up to be the mildest day of the week.

Light rain that started in Vancouver will continue into Wednesday but it'll be sunny in Montreal.

As for South America, the rain that's fallen for weeks on Argentina's main agricultural region is hampering the soy harvest. Expect another rainy day on Wednesday.

Taking you to Europe,... most major cities will be under bright skies except Rome which will have showers.

In fact, major cities on the African continent will also have sunny skies with highs ranging from the teens to the thirties.

That's the weather update for now.
