Blue House reveals inter-Korean summit dinner menu

South Korea's presidential office has given us a sneak peek at the *food... that will be served during dinner following Friday's inter-Korean summit.
Officials say President Moon Jae-in requested dishes that best reflect the importance of the occasion.

The Blue House has unveiled the dishes that will be served to President Moon Jae-in and North Korean leader Kim Jong-un on Friday evening.
North Korea's signature dish, Pyongyang-style naengmyun, or cold noodles, is one of the feature items on the menu.
President Moon suggested to serve cold noodles from Okryugwan, a famous restaurant in the North Korean capital,... and the North said yes.

"North Korea will bring the head chef from Okryugwan to Panmunjom on April 27th to serve the cold noodles. They also plan to bring along a noodle-making machine."

With this, the diners will be able to enjoy freshly made noodles.
According to the Blue House spokesperson, the menu reflects the efforts of those who contributed to the peace and unification of the two Koreas.
Rice from paddies near Bongha Village,... the hometown of former President Roh Moo-hyun will be served,... along with Pyeonsu, or dumplings, with croaker and sea cucumber sourced from Gageodo, former President Kim Dae-jung's hometown.
President Moon and Kim Jong-un will also enjoy beef from Seosan ranch in Chungcheongnam-do Province,... where the founder of Hyundai Group kept cattle.
Cold octopus salad sourced from the seaside town of Tongyeong, the hometown of late composer Yoon Yi-sang will also be served.
Roasted fish,... a famous local dish from Busan,... where President Moon spent most of his childhood will also be introduced.
In addition, Korean-style Swiss fried potato will be served,... in a nod to Kim Jong-un's younger days spent in Switzerland.
Munbaeju, a type of liquor which originated in the North but is made in the South now,... will also be served at the dinner.
