Korea's consumer sentiment drops for 5th month in row in April, sitting at 1-year low

South Korea's consumer sentiment dropped for the fifth consecutive month in April,... marking the longest continuous period on the slide.
The Bank of Korea says the composite consumer sentiment index recorded 107-point-one, a low not seen in a year.
The central bank attributed the fall to growing concerns over trade disputes between the United States and China,.. as well as the stagnant employment market.
The reading, however, is still above 100,... which means optimists outnumber pessimists.
The central bank said a positive outcome from inter-Korean summit would likely boost consumer sentiment.
