North Korean leader Kim Jong-un visited the Kumsusan Palace of the Sun on Sunday..... to celebrate his grandfather and the regime's founder Kim Il-sung's birthday.
The day is North Korea's largest national holiday.
The North's state-run media reported Monday that.... Kim paid tribute to his late grandfather.... as well as his father Kim Jong-il at the palace.... that serves as the mausoleum for the regime's late leaders.
Pyongyang refrained from any provocative acts or words,... which is in stark contrast from the past celebrations when the North conducted missile tests marking the occasion in 2016,... and a large-scale military parade last year.
