South Korea's IPO funds mark 40% on-year growth in 2017

South Korea is ranked eighth in the world in terms of initial public offerings, or IPO, capitalization among 52 member-states of the World Federation of Exchanges.
According to the Korea Exchange,... 80 companies were newly listed either on country's main KOSPI or secondary KOSDAQ stock markets last year,... raising a total of seven-point-four billion U.S. dollars.
While the number of firms that made their market debut decreased slightly from the previous year,... the size of the funds raised marked 40 percent on-year growth.
