The Presidential Office of Cheong Wa Dae has just released its third and final part of the detailed summary of the government's proposed bill on revising South Korea's Constitution.
The focus this morning was on the proposed form of government, as well as changes in the nation's power structure.
One of which, is the proposal of a four-year, two-term presidency.

"Now is the time to implement a four year, two-term presidential system to realize responsible politics and the stable management of state affairs. It is also the will of the public."

However, the Blue House stressed the proposed system will not apply to Korea's current President Moon Jae-in; the government's proposal stipulates that his term will end on May 9th, 2022.
If the new system is adopted, the Presidential election and the local elections will be able to take place concurrently, starting four years from now,... the general election taking the role of a mid-term evaluation.
The government's amendment bill also looks to change the legal voting age to 18.
