With the on-going probe into a corruption scandal linked to former President Lee Myung-bak,... prosecutors have raided the headquarters of Samsung Electronics and the residence of a former senior company official.
Investigators from the Seoul Central District Prosecutors' Office confiscated hard drives and other materials from the company's main office,... including the home of Lee Hak-soo , a former group vice chairman.
The probe began over suspicions Samsung paid fees to a local auto parts maker, DAS, which is run by the former President's relatives, in a U.S. lawsuit.
DAS brought the lawsuit against a businessman to recoup its investment in his U.S.-based investment advisory firm.
The prosecution is also looking to whether Lee Myung-bak used his influence during his presidency to help DAS recover money from the U.S. firm.
