As the world gets ready to celebrate a festival of peace and sport tomorrow in South Korea, it appears North Korea will be going ahead with a military parade today.
But exactly when and on what scale is still unclear.

It's a day before the Winter Olympics begin in South Korea... but eyes are also on the North and whether it will go ahead with a military parade... to celebrate its official military foundation day.
North Korea announced last month that it designated February 8th as the official founding day of its Korean People's Army -- moving the date from April 25th.
Since then, satellite images of the North's Mirim Airfield and Kim Il-sung Square... have indicated preparations for the parade,... which Seoul's military says... appear to be finished.

"We expect that the North will hold the scheduled military parade today."

Reports say that through this Wednesday, the North had almost 50-thousand people, several jets, plus artillery and tanks... practicing for the ceremony and an airshow.
Not seen, however, were mobile launchers for carrying ICBMs or SLBMs.

The exact time and size of the parade can't be forecast.
The regime usually holds its parades in the morning,... but some say this one might be held in the afternoon due to cold weather.
Also, it could be on a smaller scale than expected... since the regime is paying attention to the international community's response and the Olympics atmosphere.
Pyongyang had invited foreign press to cover the parade... but that was later canceled.
