Korea facing more arctic freeze _ 020718

Good morning, today's conditions are going to be pretty much a repeat of yesterday's. Another bone chilling morning with freezing afternoon highs in Seoul but the cold snap will finally show signs of easing from tomorrow before it makes a return on Sunday.

Checking on today's afternoon highs, southern regions can expect to see readings hiking into positive territory at 3 degrees in Busan,... while Seoul will only make it to minus 3 degrees.

Those of you in PyeongChang woke up to icy cold conditions of around minus 20 degrees this morning, but the cold will ease starting tomorrow and we will have bearable temperatures just in time for the opening ceremony on Friday.

With that, let's take a look at the international weather for viewers around the world.

While cold wave alerts are in place across much of the country along with more than 110 centimeters of heavy snow in Ullengdo here in South Korea, many areas in North Korea are enduring a brutally cold winter under mostly sunny skies.

As for the rest of Asia, those of you in Beijing had a very cold morning and strong winds will only add more chill to the air.

Meanwhile, those of you in Melbourne got a break from the scorching hot weather, but summer is back with highs rising to the mid to upper thirties.

Heading to North America, more snow is forecast on Wednesday in Montreal, the temperature will be cold with the storm, likely remaining in the -10C range on Wednesday.

As for South America, Sao Paulo will get a break from the rain so enjoy some sunshine on Wednesday

Taking you to Europe,.. those of you in Stockholm will see nicer weather along with a tad higher readings than Tuesday, the cold snap will ease from Thursday.
