青色を基調としたいで立ちで登場。ティショットでフェアウェイをとらえると、残り129ydからきっちりグリーンに乗せて、2パットのパーとした。
2016年はリッキー・ファウラー、17年はウェブ・シンプソンとのプレーオフを制し、連覇を達成した松山。今年の予選ラウンドは、その2人と同組で回る。
これまでに大会3連覇を果たしたのは、1962年から64年にかけてのアーノルド・パーマーだけだ。

Battle of Hideki Matsuyama started for the second consecutive match of the second event in history. Starting at the start hole in in par number 10, I started.
I wanted to be based in blue and appeared standing. Taking a fairway with a tee shot, I put it on the green from the remaining 129yd and made it 2 par.
Hideki Matsuyama, who achieved Rikki Fowler in 2016, 17 years in the playoffs with Web Simpson, and achieved successive victories. This year's qualification round will go around with the two in the same group.
It was only Arnold Palmer from 1962 to 1964 that he won the third consecutive tournament.
