Churning clouds of smoke and ash emerged from the Philippines’ Mayon volcano on Tuesday, January 16, clouding the skies above eastern Albay province and causing thousands to evacuate their homes.This livestreamed footage, geotagged in the north of Daraga municipality, in eastern Albay province, shows the clouds from a distance.Rappler reported that nearly 6,000 people were evacuated from the Albay municipalities Camalig, Guinobatan and Malilipot, since their neighborhoods were located in the volcano’s potential danger zone.
