A proposed plan was unveiled last week from the White House which aims to open up United States coasts to drillers over the next five years. Governors from several coastal states have put pressure on the Trump Administration to exempt their waters from the offshore drilling plan after the interior secretary Ryan Zinke granted Florida’s request to opt out. Alaska and Maine are the only two states who have expressed support for the plan.
