After Umesh Yadav dismissed Thirimanne on 51 runs then he got the wicket of another set batsman Angelo Mathews whom he dismissed on 52 runs. Earlier the host got the wicket of Samarawickrama and Karunaratne early on in the match. Cheteshwar Pujara slammed his 16th fifty and he stood tall on a challenging wicket in Eden Gardens Kolkata as the rest of the batsmen floundered. Suranga Lakmal was the star with 4/26 and he was given good support from Dasun Shanaka, Lahiru Gamage and Dilruwan Perera as India were bowled out for 172 on day 3 of the Kolkata Test.
