Selena Gomez Needed a Kidney Transplant, Received One From Friend

Selena Gomez reveals that she underwent kidney transplant surgery over the summer, revealing pictures of the process to her millions of followers on Instagram.
She says, “I’m very aware some of my fans had noticed I was laying low for part of the summer and questioning why I wasn’t promoting my new music, which I was extremely proud of. So I found out I needed to get a kidney transplant due to my Lupus and was recovering.”
The singer shared some pictures of post-surgery scars, but most touching, she posted a picture of her undergoing the procedure with the friend who spared a kidney for her.
Selena says, “And finally, there aren’t words to describe how I can possibly thank my beautiful friend Francia Raisa. She gave me the ultimate gift and sacrifice by donating her kidney to me.”
Y’know, most pop stars seem to escape for “exhaustion” or who knows what else… But, Selena proves to millions that sometimes young people can go through some serious medical issues that deserve awareness.
