Selena Gomez is open about her faith, but she doesn’t necessarily like the idea of religion… Anyone else a little confused?

Well, hear her out. Selena tells the Zach Sang Show, “It’s hard because I don’t know if it’s necessarily that I believe in religion as much as I believe in faith and a relationship with God.”

Wait what? We’re not sure if we’re picking up with Selena is putting down, but we guess she means that certain religious groups or titles aren’t as meaningful to her as overall “faith.”

She tells the show, “I’ve never been the person that’s like, ‘This is what it should be…’ I’ve just experienced things in my life where there are holes in things that nothing else can fill and I know if I didn’t have the faith that I had it wouldn’t have gotten me through some of the hardest times in my life… That word freaks me out sometimes, you know.”

Got it. Selena feels blessed, but she’s just not going to dictate how anyone else should practice.

Thank God we got to the bottom of that one.
