Political commentator Keith Olbermann predicts that President Trump’s resignation will come, and when it does, it will be sudden.
In his Tuesday installment of the GQ series ‘The Resistance,' Olbermann states, “For weeks now I have been anticipating that Trump’s last day in office will dawn like all the others, and then around dinnertime it will suddenly break that he is about to resign.”
That vision of the future is buoyed by a number of reports that have surfaced in recent days and include a tweet from CNBC’s John Harwood.
It reads, “prediction just in from top R strategist: Trump resigns ‘once Mueller closes in on him and the family,' Pence makes Rubio VP, ‘GOP recovers.’”
As for when day of resignation “will dawn,” Olbermann is less certain, saying, “I don’t know if that’s next Tuesday or next year.”
Tony Schwartz, co-author of Trump’s ‘Art of the Deal,’ has echoed similar thoughts about the resignation.
"The circle is closing at blinding speed. Trump is going to resign and declare victory before Mueller and congress leave him no choice," Schwartz said in a series of tweets last week. "Trump's presidency is effectively over. Would be amazed if he survives till end of the year. More likely resigns by fall, if not sooner."
