Michael Moore says he has figured out the key to President Trump’s downfall.
As the documentary filmmaker told Stephen Colbert Wednesday night, “I suggested a few months ago that we have an army of satire, because I think the way to bring him down is with satire.”
Moore added, “His thin skin, as you’ve pointed out so well, is so thin, all we need is like a thousand or a million little comedy shivs--just, you know, nonviolent, don't hurt him--but under his skin, because he can't take being laughed at.”
He went on to say he’d already awarded the first satire medal of honor to Melissa McCarthy for her highly publicized turn as former White House press secretary Sean Spicer on Saturday Night Live.
The outspoken filmmaker said, “She’s taken down the first Trump administration official with satire.”
Moore’s appearance on CBS News' 'The Late Show' was to talk about his new politically themed show on Broadway called 'The Terms of My Surrender.'
While Moore is one of the few who predicted Trump would win the 2016 presidential race, he has also suggested the former businessman would likely not serve a full term “because he has no ideology.”
