Report: Melania Trump And Other Family Members Pushing For Priebus Replacement

In the wake of continued leaks, questions surrounding Reince Priebus' future role as White House chief of staff have resurfaced.

In the wake of continued media leaks, questions surrounding White House chief of staff Reince Priebus' jobs security have resurfaced.
A Washington Post report noted Tuesday, "The makeup of Trump’s inner circle is the subject of internal debate, as ever. Ivanka Trump, the president’s daughter and senior adviser; Jared Kushner, her husband and another senior adviser; and first lady Melania Trump have been privately pressing the president to shake up his team — most specifically by replacing Reince Priebus as the White House chief of staff, according to two senior White House officials and one ally close to the White House."
The Post article follows a bombshell story by the New York Times on Donald Trump Jr.'s meeting with a Russian lawyer to acquire damaging information on Hillary Clinton during the 2016 presidential campaign.
The Times piece started out by stating that the findings were based on “three advisers to the White House briefed on the meeting and two others with knowledge of it.”
According to Vox, the fact that these sources approved their link to the White House is telling, particularly since they could have asked to be identified more broadly and because previous leaks about a Trump-Russia connection have been attributed to those elsewhere in the government.
The Washington Post goes on to say, "The three family members are especially concerned about the steady stream of unauthorized leaks to journalists that have plagued the administration over the nearly six months that President Trump has been in office, from sensitive national security information to embarrassing details about the inner workings of the White House, the officials said."
For some time, there have been rumblings about the very fragile state of Reince Priebus’ employment as President Trump’s chief of staff.
NBC News reported on May 31, "Facing a West Wing in near-constant crisis, and with little progress so far on most of his legislative priorities, President Donald Trump is actively seeking advice about a shakeup that could envelop his chief of staff, Reince Priebus."
Meanwhile, President Trump dismissed reports concerning "chaos" in the White House, tweeting Wednesday, "The W.H. is functioning perfectly, focused on HealthCare, Tax Cuts/Reform & many other things. I have very little time for watching T.V."
