Donald Trump Jr. acknowledged meeting with a Russian lawyer linked to Vladimir Putin during his father's presidential campaign. Trump Jr., Jared Kushner, and the chairman of Trump's campaign, Paul Manafort, attended the "short meeting" at Trump Tower in June 2016. The younger Trump confirmed the meeting to the New York Times. “We primarily discussed a program about the adoption of Russian children that was active and popular with American families years ago and was since ended by the Russian government, but it was not a campaign issue at that time and there was no follow-up,” Trump Jr. said in the statement.
