Trump and Putin call each other about Syria, North Korea
  • 7 years ago
President Donald Trump spoke with Russian President Vladimir Putin over the phone on Tuesday to talk about tensions in the Middle East and North Korea. According to the White House, the two presidents discussed efforts to stop terrorism and war in Syria and to ease the strain against North Korea. "President Trump and President Putin agreed that the suffering in Syria has gone on for far too long and that all parties must do all they can to end the violence," read the White House release. This is the first time they talked to each other since the U.S. airstrike on a Syrian airbase in April, in which Trump said that the U.S. relationship with Russia was at an “all-time low.” They will meet in person for the first time in July during a Group of 20 summit meeting in Germany.
