Cannes Film Festival swarmed by police in anti-terror measures

The city deployed heavily armed anti-terror police to guard the Cannes Film Festival, which debuts on Wednesday. The Cannes festival is the first since the attack in Nice when an Islamist drove a truck through a crowd watching fireworks in nearby Nice, killing 85 people. In addition to deploying additional security, police invested nearly 175 years of spiked chains intended to stop a truck-ramming attack. France has been in a state of emergency since November 2015 when coordinated gun and bomb attacks in Paris killed 130 people and wounded 368.
