Fire Activity at Gila National Forest Wildfire Expected to Increase

A wildfire burning inside Gila National Forest in New Mexico stood at 2,665 acres and 17 percent contained on Friday, May 12. The Kerr Fire first started on May 1, likely caused by lightning.Officials believe fire activity could increase late Saturday and on Sunday because of a predicted increase in temperatures and wind speeds, according to the incident report.This video shows the fire from a National Forest Service helicopter that was scouting the fire.
