Forest Smolders from Wildfire Near Francois Lake

Crews were performing mop-up operations along the southern shore of Francois Lake in British Columbia, Canada, on Monday, August 27, while other crews tackled blazes burning further up in the forests above the lake, BC Wildfires said.Two fires – the Verdun Mountain and the Island Lake – have been burning near Francois Lake. This footage, shot on Friday, August 24, shows a portion of the Island Lake Fire along the lakeshore.The Island Lake Fire has scorched more than 50,000 acres, while the Verdun Mountain Fire has burned nearly 90,000 acres.
