Trump's Controversial Appointments For Healthcare

U.S. President-elect Donald Trump named an Obamacare critic and a health policy expert to his administration on November 29th. Republican Representative Tom Price will be Trump's Health and Human Services secretary. Price is an orthopedic surgeon from Georgia, who supported barring federal funds for Planned Parenthood. His ACA replacement plan would boost health savings accounts, and give states money to create high-risk pools for people who cannot obtain insurance because of pre-existing conditions. Price's plan would also roll back the expansion of Medicaid for low-income people. Trump also picked Seema Verma to lead the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services. She helped Mike Pence add conservative pieces to Medicaid coverage for the Indiana's poor, by requiring beneficiaries to make contributions to health savings accounts.
