Sean Spicer Criticizes Congressional Budget Office’s Accuracy

White House press secretary Sean Spicer has accused the nonpartisan Congressional Budget Office, or CBO, of being inaccurate in its past assessment of the Affordable Care Act or ACA, also known as Obamacare.

White House press secretary Sean Spicer has accused the nonpartisan Congressional Budget Office, or CBO, of being inaccurate in its past assessment of the Affordable Care Act or ACA, also known as Obamacare, reports ABC News.
He made the comments during a press briefing Wednesday after a reporter asked why the current administration hasn’t had the health care bill proposed by Republicans assessed and scored by the CBO as Obama’s team had done with theirs.
Spicer responded by saying, “It is being scored.”
He also added, “The irony of the score is that the CBO was way off the last time….I don’t think...that’s a big issue to us right now.”
Spicer then said, “If you're looking to the CBO for accuracy, you're looking in the wrong place. They were way, way off last time in every aspect of how they scored and projected Obamacare….the idea that that’s any kind of authority based on the track record that occurred last time is a little far-fetched.”
According to ABC News, a health policy nonprofit group called the Commonwealth Fund had determined in December 2015 that the CBO’s projections about Obamacare were closer than other forecasters but still missed the mark on costs and enrollment figures by double digits.
House Republicans released a draft of their bill to replace the ACA on Monday.
In the days ahead, the CBO is expected to release its report outlining the impact of the new bill.
According to The Hill, "The preemptive attacks on the budget office from Republicans are likely a sign that they  expect the CBO will find that their plan will leave more Americans without health insurance and raise costs for the government."
