Mexico snubs Trump, says no to deporting Central Americans to Mexico
  • 7 years ago
Mexico rejected President Donald Trump's immigration plans to deport Central Americans to Mexico while their cases are pending in the U.S. Trump released a proposal earlier this week indicating that non-Mexican nationals apprehended at the U.S.-Mexico border will be sent back to Mexico. Most of the non-Mexican nationals stopped at the border are Central Americans, who enter the U.S. through Mexico. Mexico immediately snubbed the idea, asserting that such a move is not legally possible. “We told them that our legal framework doesn’t allow this. We told them it is impossible. There is no way, legally, nor is there capacity," Osorio Chong told Radio Formula.
