Behind The Fighter: Kane Mousah Part 2
The second part of Behind The Fighter's profile on Kane "The Danger" Mousah.

With a hard working ethic and pride in his reputation, Kane is constantly training to become the best, to give back to the MMA community that helped him turn his life around.

“I’d wasted years in prison but no matter how hard I get knocked down, I will always get back up.”

In the second half of the documentary Kane expands on life in prison, he had just lost his chance at UFC but he wasn’t going to let the bars hold him back.

Instead he worked resiliently, applying his mind and gaining qualifications to become a personal trainer and working his way up to sectors in prison that eventually allowed him to have home visits. At the time he didn’t realise how integral these home visits would be.

Three days before his release he secured another pro fight. Using a day pass he went, he fought and he won, then he returned to prison before being released a few days later.

Once out of prison Kane describes how he reflected on his time in prison, he saw it as he’s wasted time, time in which he could have been progressing as a fighter.

With that in mind Kane got a job at Pure Gym as an assistant manager and within a year he was promoted to a GM. One year on into that job and he had brought the gym up to professional standard.

His determination, dedication and resilience was enabling him to prove just how far he’d come and the person he had grown into.

After winning multiple fights Kane was offered a fight in Ireland for BAMMA. Despite only recovering from a knee injury six weeks before the fight Kane went and came back victorious.

He was an undefeated champion holding a seven streak win. That was before he faced Marc Diakiese who knocked him out in just 36 seconds.

“At the end of the day I got beat by the better man. This is MMA, anything can happen.”

Despite the loss, Kane’s mentality hasn’t changed, he’s still determined, he’s ready to take on more fights and he is adamant he will have his debut at UFC.

Given how far he has come and the challenges he has overcome, Kane is confident he will be successful.
