Exercise actually makes you smarter

Hitting the gym is more than just rocking a great summer bod, it can actually improve your GPA! A new study published by Penn State University suggests that being active and eating enough iron can actually make you smarter. Researchers looked at each participant's iron levels, peak oxygen uptake (VO2 max or aerobic capacity), grade point average (GPA), performance on computerized attention and memory tasks, and motivation. Although only 105 female students from one college were sampled, the study did find that those who worked out and had normal iron levels had the highest GPAs. Looks like Popeye had it right!
