Burglars outwit guard dog with treats before ransacking suburban home

PEORIA, ARIZONA — A couple of burglars were quick to take advantage of a guard dog who was distracted by a handful of treats.

On December 8, the unidentified man and woman pulled up to the house in their Chevy Impala and parked in the driveway. After knocking and realizing no one was home, the man then hopped over the wall and proceeded to the dog door. He didn’t show up empty-handed, carrying some sort of food for the dog.

Luring the unsuspecting canine out through the doggy door, the man squeezed his way into the small flap door and proceeded to ransack the home, stealing multiple goods with the greatest of ease.

One by one, the thieves carried the furniture to the car, as the dog watched. When they finished packing up the loot into their car, the pooch watched them speed away, leaving him behind in the driveway. Luckily, a neighbour spotted the dog and returned him to his owners.

Police are asking for the public’s help to track down the two criminals.
