Samsung officials questioned in South Korean presidential scandal

Samsung's vice chairman Lee Jae-yong was summoned to appear in court by South Korean prosecutors over bribery allegations. The conglomerate is accused of allegedly bribing a friend of President Park Geun-hye, Choi Soon-shil, to gain support for a controversial merger. Jae-yong allegedly paid Choi millions in bribes through a company she owned. Authorities believe Samsung paid Choi out to use her influence so that the national pension service would vote in favor of the merger.
