FALLING WATERS, WEST VIRGINIA — Shocked and disgusted at the gruesome way their pet dog was butchered, a family is now seeking to find the cold-blooded killer and bring him to justice.

Herald-Mail Media reports that around 4 p.m. on Thursday, September 8, Siberian husky Ryu went missing from his family’s home in Falling Waters, West Virginia.

Owner Danielle Teran suspected he might have escaped from his run line by slipping out of his collar. She and her family tried looking for him, but turned to social media when he still didn’t turn up after a day.

Less than two days after Ryu went missing, Teran’s son found him hanging by the neck on the family’s gate. He had been tortured, cut open, and gutted.

In a Facebook post about the incident, Teran said they were traumatized at the sight and heartbroken at their pet’s horrific and painful death.

The Humane Society is offering a $5,000 reward for information that can help catch the perpetrator.
