KANSAS CITY, KANSAS — The 10-year-old son of Kansas lawmaker Scott Schwab, died Sunday in an accident on the 17-story high Verruckt — the world’s tallest water slide, reported the Kansas City Star.

Details of the accident at the Schlitterbann Waterpark in Kansas City were not immediately available.

According to Reuters, rafts on Verruckt can carry three people who are secured with strapping similar to a car seat belt. The combined weight of riders must be between 400 and 550 pounds.

The ride currently has no age limit but previously had an age limit of 14. This was dropped in 2014, reported the Washington Post citing a July 2014 USA Today article.

The top of the slide is secured with netting and riders descend at speeds of up to 70 miles per hour. The descent takes around 15 to 20 seconds, reported Reuters.
