BUSHNELL, FLORIDA — A 58-year-old man is recovering in hospital after an 8-foot alligator took a bite out of his leg Tuesday night.
The attack occurred at around 6:30 p.m. when the man spotted the 300 lb beast at his home. He shot it and went to see if he’d killed it.
He clearly didn’t because that’s when the gator chomped down on the man’s leg.
Florida wildlife officials later euthanized the beast. The man was airlifted to a local hospital, where he is reportedly in stable condition.
