About a week ago, veteran Rebecca Hayes found a mean note on her car, criticizing her for parking in a veteran’s only spot. She has since received an apology.

On June 13, Rebecca Hayes from North Carolina, who served in the U.S. Navy for 8 years, found a mean note on her car, criticizing her for parking in a veteran’s only spot.
She posted the inappropriate message on Facebook and it quickly went viral.
Hayes has since received an apology letter from the same individual, reports WTEN.
The handwritten letter reads, in part, “I happened to come across your post on facebook through a friend who shared your photo and status. I would like to apologize to you. I know its no excuse, but I’ve seen so many young people park in retired vet spaces, along with handicap lately, and I lost my cool.”
It continues, “…I’m glad I saw your post. I immediately felt horrible about a situation - where I assumed I was standing up for someone…You didn’t deserve that, and I hope you accept this apology.”
Hayes shared that communication on Facebook on Monday and noted that she very much appreciated the heartfelt words.
She also commented, “It’s nice to know that people still take responsibility for their mistakes, and a sincere ‘I’m sorry’ can go a long way.”
