X Factor India - Episode 16 - 8th Jul 2011 - Part 1 of 4

The show starts with the results that would decide the fate of the two who are voted at the bottom. Shreya's team of Geet Sagar, Kartar Singh, and Amit Jhadav remain safe along with Seema Jha, Deewana Group, Sajda Sisters, Nirmitee Group and Sahiti G. Last Minute from Sanjay Leela Bhansali's team and Piyush Kapoor from Sonu Nigam's team are voted at the bottom two. In the face off round Last Minute sings 'Ab Ke Saawan' and Piyush performs on 'Kurbaan Hua'. Sanjay Leela Bhansali votes for his team's Last Minute, Sonu Nigam and Shreya Ghoshal vote for Piyush Kapoor. So, Last Minute bids adieu to the stage of X Factor and leave behind some sweet memories.
This episode of X Factor is dedicated to all the father of the world. The first one to perform is Seema Jha who dedicates her performance on 'Aao Tumhe Chaand Pe Le Jaayein' to her father and garners good comments. Sanjay Leela Bhansali gives her a rose and her father also comes to the stage to share his feeling of being a proud father. Deewana Group enters with a performance on 'Aas Paas Hai Khuda' which they bestow to their fathers. They once again entertain everyone with their harmonious and synchronized singing. A message from Shahnawaz Khan's pregnant wife makes him cry. Geet Sagar tells his story with his father in his song 'O Saathi Re'. His performance shows the need of father in one's life. Sonu Nigam praises him for attempting one of the most difficult Kishore Kumar songs. Nirmitee Group comes up with their mesmerizing performance on 'Tujhse Naraz Nahi Zindagi'. Through their singing they tell their fathers how much they love them. Shreya Ghoshal praises them for their harmony, sync and essence. Sonu tells them that he is their fan and expects more from them. They again perform a harmony piece which is appreciated by everyone. Then Ranjana's parents tell what hardships they took to raise her and give her what she wants. In a message, Sonu Nigam's father thanks Sonu for carrying forward his unfinished dream of becoming a playback singer and fulfilling it. Sonu Nigam's son Nevaan gives a surprise visit to his daddy.

Open to all citizens of India over the age of 16, the auditions will be divided into 3 categories, viz. 16-25 years, 25 & above and individual groups. Participants that make through the final selection will then be divided into three groups with each group headed by a mentor. Sanjay Leela Bhansali: Needless to say, one of India's greatest film makers having moved hearts right from his first film, Khamoshi -- The Musical to Hum Dil Chuke Sanam to Guzaarish, this producer, writer, director and recently turned musician has received several accolades for his creativity abilities. As one of the judges for X FACTOR INDIA' Sanjay has vowed to pick only the best.
Shreya Ghoshal: For Shreya life has come full circle, from a being a contestant on a reality show to being the judge on the biggest music reality show on Indian television. This gifted singer's first film "Devdas" not only saw her getting a Filmfare 'RD. Burman Award for New Music Talent' but also the 'best female playback singer' award. After lending her voice in more than 180 films and receiving four National Film Awards, she is all set to win hearts in her new avatar as a judge in X FACTOR INDIA.
