Transport Min. calls for curfew on Palestinians in areas of attacks

Transportation Minister Yisrael Katz, a Likud MK and a member of the security cabinet, on Friday called for the government to change its policies in the West Bank after eight soldiers were wounded in two vehicular attacks earlier in the day.
Principle among Katz's proposals was for a total curfew to be imposed on areas which have produced terrorists.
Katz also called for Palestinians to be banned from using roads on which attacks have taken place and demanded the freezing of Israeli work permits for residents of areas under curfew.
"We cannot allow a situation in which security personnel and Israeli citizens are exposed to being stabbed and run over because of the desire to let the Palestinian population live their lives as normal," Katz said.
