Brazil: Opposition Seeks Impeachment

The country’s conservative opposition has seized on today’s court decision regarding illegal practices in the Rousseff government to try to build support for the president’s impeachment. The Workers’ Party (PT) charges that, for the fifth time, the opposition is trying to manipulate aspects of the Constitution to bring down a president who was democratically elected. Faced with the prospect of a parliamentary coup, Rousseff reshaped her cabinet, giving more space to the conservative PMDV, which has also been charged with corruption. teleSUR
