00:00In Venezuela, the Attorney General Tarek William Saab on Tuesday offered details of the progress
00:05made in the investigations regarding the PDVSA crypto case.
00:09During a press conference, William Saab pointed out that the public ministry is constantly
00:14advancing in the fight against corruption.
00:16Meanwhile, the official denounced that the former Minister of Oil Tarek El Aysami had
00:21a phantom payroll with which he allegedly financed an extortive media structure with
00:27public money.
00:29In this sense, the public prosecutor informed that around 290 people have been prosecuted,
00:3476 of them were sentenced for the corruption scheme.
00:44Later appeared one after another in different companies in the oil belt, as well as in different
00:51management of PDVSA.
00:53After almost seven years of this investigation, we have managed to process 32 corruption plots
00:58linked to the oil industry, including PDVSA crypto plot.
01:08In all these 32 plots, so we have judicialized 290 people.
01:14That number should not be forgotten, only referring to the fight against oil corruption.
01:2176 have already been convicted, among those prosecuted, including apart from the former
01:31Orinoco oil belt, chief Pedro León and former president of PDVSA.
